What a day...I really enjoyed myself. Cool people, cool cars and beer!
haha Anyways, I woke up super early that morning in order to meet up
with the guys from VW Hydrosport at 8am in the Irvine Spectrum market
place. We went to have breakfast and then caravanned (the short
distance) over to the show. I only saw 5 B5 Passats in the entire show!!
Three of them were Club B5ers as well. The first 2 Passats I saw were
Jason's (foomanchu), and Art's (PassArt). Both are members of Europaisch
motorsport and from the San Diego area. The third B5 I saw was the
infamous "all blue" Passat...John Contreras' from Autotech.
Then the fourth B5 was a car that was sponsored by DTM AutoHaus which
had a stereo system like you wouldn't believe. Just to name a few of
those things off: T.V. receiver, DVD player, VCR, Play Station, amps
like crazy, and of course all new speakers and woofers. When he was
playing Grand Tourismo (Car racing video game), it sounded as if it were
being played in a movie theatre. Finally the 5th Passat was a project
car of some company that slips my mind for the time being. It was a
silver B5 with the top painted black. Sharp! But nothing I would ever
do.
